The Ministry of Equality, Employment, Culture, and Tourism, in collaboration with Para Sports Gibraltar, invites you to participate in the Para Sports Day on Saturday, 7th September 2024, from 09:30 to 13:30 at the Tercentenary Sports Hall.

This event will feature a wheelchair basketball tournament and tasters of para badminton, sitting volleyball, and goalball. Following the tremendous success of the recent Para Sports Taster Day, this event aims to provide valuable insights into adaptive sports and promote the strength and inclusivity they embody.

Data Protection Cyber Security Conference scheduled for April 17, 2024. This full-day event, tailored for GBGA members, promises insightful presentations and engaging workshops on critical cybersecurity topics.

Event Details:

Date: April 17, 2024

Time: 9:30 am - 5:30 pm with a networking event held at 5.30pm

Location: The Sunborn, Gibraltar

FREE and Exclusive for GBGA Members

Agenda:

The agenda:

  • Breakfast shall be provided as from 09:00;

  • GBGA Chairman Nigel Birrell, and Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner Andrew Lyman shall provide speeches to open the workshop at 09:30;

  • The GRA will deliver presentations on the following topics during the morning:

    • Targeted Social Media Marketing;

    • Cookies;

    • Ransomware; and

    • Credential Stuffing

  • Lunch shall be provided at 13:00 at the Sunborn’s ‘Barbary Restaurant’;

  • Other than the for the first topic, the afternoon’s session (starting at 14:30) will not feature any regulatory bodies in attendance to allow Members to discuss topics in an environment more akin to a ‘Chatham House Rules’ environment.  Topics for the afternoon session include:

    • The use of ‘AI’ in the remote gambling industry (including the use of ‘Generative AI’) – jointly presented by the GRA and GBGA Member representative Anne-Claire Dubois (Bally’s Interactive VP Group Privacy & Data Protection);

    • Cookies (the operator experience) – presented by GBGA Member representatives Sharon Crippin (Betfred’s Group Data Protection Officer), Anne-Claire Dubois (Bally’s Interactive VP Group Privacy & Data Protection), and Joe Gaunt (Evoke’s Group Data Protection Officer); and

    • ‘Single Customer View’ in Great Britain, and ‘White Paper’ derived consultations in Great Britain with data protection connotations – presented by GBGA Members representative Joe Gaunt (Evoke’s Group Data Protection Officer), and Steph Wong (Head of Policy at the ‘Betting and Gaming Council’ (BGC)).

  • Following closing remarks at around 17:00 / 17:30, we shall head to the Sunborn’s ‘Gastro Bar’ for the after event social with drinks and canapes.

AML Committee Meeting

The GBGA would like to invite you to an AML Committee meeting at the Gibraltar Finance Centre’s boardroom at Suite 761, Europort on Monday 5 September 2022 in which the The Gambling Commissioner will, as part of its ongoing engagement with the GBGA, directly address the GBGA’s AML Committee on several topics and themes of an AML nature.

The meeting will start at 10am with a light breakfast from 09:30.
We will also provide video conference facilities for those who cannot attend in person, and we will provide dial in details via email before the end of the week.

Please RSVP to let us know whether you and any of your colleagues will be attending and whether you will do so in person or via video conference.

We will be maintaining contact with the Gambling Commissioner throughout this week as regards this meeting. Please feel free to let us know if there are any points other than the three above that you would like to add to the meeting on Monday.
